Gerard is Head of Business Development Strategy for RBC BlueBay Asset Management (RBC Global Asset Management’s business outside North America). In this role he is tasked with ensuring the BlueBay fixed income platform has a robust and coherent sales plan aligned with business strategy, together with the operational infrastructure required to execute the plan. This covers IT systems, processes, policies and procedures, organization design, performance management, as well as co-ordinating dependencies and interactions with other teams across the firm. He joined in April 2013 from Aviva Investors where he was Global Head of Sales & Marketing Operations.
Gerard began his career as a research fellow at the University of Southampton before moving into IT and management consulting at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Hewlett Packard where he was UK Director of Consulting, followed by a number of consulting and interim sales leadership roles in private and public sector organisations. Gerard holds a BSc in Biology (1988) and PhD in Computer Science (1992) from the University of Southampton. He was awarded the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) in 2008 and the Diploma in Strategic Sales Practice (2011) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
