L’inférence de l’IA stimule la croissance à mesure que le marché s’élargit

Jeremy Richardson met en avant l’influence de l’inférence de l’IA sur la progression du marché, les premiers signes d’un redressement économique général lié à la modération des cours du pétrole, ainsi que les risques géopolitiques persistants susceptibles de compromettre cette dynamique positive.

  • L’inférence de l’IA fait fureur sur les marchés boursiers : les entreprises du secteur des semi-conducteurs et des infrastructures cloud enregistrent une croissance du bénéfice par action (BPA) supérieure à 60 %, portée par la demande des entreprises. Il s’agit toujours d’un segment de marché étroit, où l’adoption par les consommateurs se fait encore attendre.
  • Mais la partie inférieure du K commence à montrer des signes d’amélioration : les prix du pétrole reviennent aux niveaux d’avant la guerre en Iran, ce qui permet aux ménages de renflouer leur budget. Les entreprises industrielles connaissent une reprise conjoncturelle, même s’il est difficile de savoir si ce réapprovisionnement des stocks va perdurer.
  • Si les inquiétudes liées à l’énergie se sont apaisées, les tensions géopolitiques persistantes font peser un risque indésirable qui menace d’inverser la dynamique positive de l’économie dans son ensemble.

Bonjour, je suis Jeremy Richardson, de l’équipe Actions mondiales de RBC, et je reviens avec un autre bulletin. Nous allons aborder trois points. Le premier concerne la façon dont l’inférence de l’IA est en train de bouleverser le marché boursier, avec une croissance du bénéfice par action (BPA) de plus de 60 % attendue pour un groupe restreint d’entreprises, qui vendent pour la plupart aux sociétés de cloud computing les équipements dont elles ont besoin pour faire fonctionner leurs centres de données. Il s’agit de puces semi-conductrices, de puces mémoire et de toute une série d’autres composants indispensables au bon fonctionnement d’un centre de données.

Cette évolution s’explique par une forte augmentation de la demande en matière d’inférence de l’IA, qui est une utilisation de l’IA principalement prisée par les entreprises qui ont recours à cette technologie pour le codage. Nous n’avons pas encore vu de développement similaire de l’activité B2C dans ce domaine. Cela va peut-être se produire, mais pour l’instant, en tout cas, c’est un segment restreint du marché qui fait grimper les estimations de BPA et qui captive l’imagination d’un grand nombre d’investisseurs.

Il faut toutefois noter, et c’est notre deuxième point, que le marché commence tout juste à s’élargir. J’ai déjà évoqué par le passé ce concept de marché en forme de K et d’économie en forme de K. La partie inférieure du K qui pourrait commencer à montrer des signes d’amélioration. Le fait que les cours du pétrole se soient stabilisés et soient désormais revenus aux niveaux d’avant la guerre en Iran permet aux ménages de récupérer un peu d’argent.

Nous commençons à observer quelques signes d’une reprise conjoncturelle, qui n’est pas tant tirée par la consommation que par les entreprises, notamment les entreprises industrielles qui fabriquent des produits destinés ensuite à être vendus aux consommateurs. Seul le temps nous dira s’il s’agit simplement d’une reconstitution des stocks ou si cette tendance va se maintenir, mais je pense que, du point de vue des investisseurs, c’est un élément positif supplémentaire si cela signifie qu’un plus grand nombre d’entreprises commencent réellement à afficher des surperformances.

Le troisième et dernier point à mentionner, cependant, est la situation géopolitique. Récemment, on a pu constater une légère amélioration, car les inquiétudes liées à la pénurie d’énergie ont en effet diminué. Comme je le disais, le prix de l’énergie est désormais revenu à son niveau d’avant la guerre. L’actualité récente et les gros titres nous rappellent que rien ne peut être tenu pour acquis. Il s’agit en réalité d’un delta indésirable auquel les investisseurs doivent prêter attention, car il pourrait resurgir et réserver une mauvaise surprise, voire étouffer une partie de la dynamique positive que l’on observe actuellement au bas de l’économie en K.
